🍌Pre-exercise nutrition
The goal of what you eat before exercise is to prepare your body for the demands of the workout. Carbohydrates are the best fuel source for high-intensity workouts.
Aim for a carb-rich meal 1-3 hours before your workout (such as oats, whole-grain bread, or wholegrain pasta), and a carb-rich snack 30-60 minutes before (such as a banana) to ensure plenty of energy is available throughout your workout.
🍗 Post-exercise nutrition After exercising, your body needs to recover.
Eat protein-rich foods after a workout (such as eggs, chicken, tofu, or a protein bar) to help replenish your energy stores, help you recover by repairing your muscle tissues, and stimulate muscle growth.
💧Hydration Hydration is another important factor in exercise performance and recovery. Water supports every metabolic function in the body and is essential for efficient workouts and recovery.
Ensure you are well-hydrated before you begin your workout and continue to drink water throughout and after you exercise.
